Meet Tracy

Tracy Rose MoyersPassion for the West- the Rockies, the wildlife and the Native Americans inspire the watercolor painting of Tracy Rose Moyers. Her paintings reflect the spiritual connections with nature and the wildlife. Concentrating on the eyes, reflecting the spirit and personality of the animal, is her focus. She also paints pet and people portraits on commission for her customers.

Tracy studied art during high school at Art Instruction School of Minneapolis, Minnesota. After high school graduation she moved to Denver, Colorado to attend Rocky Mountain School of Art. Graduating with a degree in Commercial Art-Illustration and Graphics, she then moved back to Virginia and started freelancing in the commercial art arena. Starting "Tracy’s Studio in the Woods" where she created hand lettered signs, logo designs, illustrations and doing commissioned paintings. Also doing courtroom sketches for numerous television stations such as WHSV-TV3 Harrisonburg, WSET-TV13 Lynchburg and WWBT-TV12 Richmond.

Her focus on the fine art of watercolors began once she had her children. After several years of participating in outdoor art shows and pow wows and being represented in other galleries, Tracy opened her own gallery in New Market Virginia. A very special trip to Montana staying in a teepee with Blackfeet Indian woman as guides showing and teaching the ways and life of the Blackfeet and showing her the landscape of Montana, deepened Tracy’s desire to move back to the west. Desiring to live in the very place that inspires the paintings that dwell within her, she took a second trip to Montana to show the state to her husband. The move to Montana will occur in 2013.
